About Us

We build social and economic equality with Tacoma’s Black community through services, training, and advocacy.

Tacoma Urban League provides services, training, and advocacy to build social and economic equality among Black people and other people historically marginalized in South Puget Sound. 

Our programs focus on the foundations of a thriving community: education, economic empowerment, health, housing, and justice. Just like our lives are not siloed in those areas, neither are our programs. They reach across sectors to make an impact, combining approaches and resources and leaning into community partnerships.

We also seek to change the systems within which people live. We do this by engaging in the political process, organizing and advocating to eliminate barriers that disproportionately harm our community and to foster equitable opportunities.
